10 things

I think this is the first time I've ever done one of these meant for posting out here. I will give it a try! I apologize in advance to the people I must tag after!

The rules:
1. You have to post the rules
2. Every person tagged has to write 10 things about themselves
3. You have to write them in your journal
4. After that, tag 5 more people
5. Go to that person's page and tell them about it

1). I like playing random made up songs on the piano and keyboard (but I have yet to get myself a means of properly recording songs). So, if I don't play a certain song for a while it may just disappear... although I do try to remember the best ones.

2). I like westerns and want to see more than the few I have. I especially enjoy the Clint Eastwood movies by Sergio Leone.

3). Despite what's in my gallery I only recently truly got into the current comic style(s) I'm using now, and have for most of my life drawn in one way for school and work, and another for myself. For myself, I primarily draw in "anime" style so to say. I love all kinds of styles and like to mix them together at times, and at other times use them separately, but now and then there is that internal struggle of what "my style" really is although I've gotten better at answering that question through the years.

4). I love collaborating on artwork with my friends. I wish I could do it more often. Sharing artwork, stories, characters, ideas... painting or drawing together... exchanging fanarts/giftarts or working on a piece together, these things are some of what can fill my heart up with joy.

5). I can do 3d stuff too~! I like modeling and texturing and some animation is fun too. I'm a low poly kind of guy and I like relying on painting nice textures to help polish off a simple model but I'm still very new to all of it.

6). I like making comics which happens once in a blue moon but when in does the gears really get going and I get in "the zone". So far in my limited experience with comics, I have completed 3 significant works all of which were for friends (because when I make something for a friend that's usually when the best work and effort comes out!). For myself, I've completed a few smaller ones and have yet to finish one of those epic things we storyteller's have growing in us. It is those unfinished grander stories that poke me in the back a lot.

7). Coming up with ideas is something that will always entertain me and whisk me away. It makes me feel lively. There are so many ideas and I'm not sure how to deal with it, haha.

8). Seeing drawings in things like tiled marble, wood grain, and cloths is neat especially when I didn't expect to see things and I enjoy the curious magic of it.

9). I like creative writing... I am also very wordy a lot of the time (here for instance) which bothers me even as I'm writing or speaking. I am working on that all the time.

10). I believe in God and I'm pretty bad at doing that when I let other things take priority in my mind. I'm on a constant spiritual journey.

Uhm, I don't know how much that really says about me outside all the the art related topics I wrote but I hope that was interesting if even mildly!

Art is only 5% talent and 95% sweat, work, frustration and tears......

it just comes down to how bad you want it that's all

LOL! This is the first time I've been tagged! :D I like your list and your Western love is showing through your thesis project.

you know, I have always had an idea for a set of blinds for one of those large windows ( i forget the name of them, basically goes from ground to room and roughly 6 feet wide). the idea is for them to be wooden and hand vertically (where the wood is attached at top and bottom and can be turned and pushed to the sides of the window). and on the wood carve into it a design. the wood of course would be light, and if the carver is good he can carve into the wood but not all the way through it. for instance if it was a half inch thick, he would leave an eighth inch left. this way when the sun shines through the blinds, it lights up the carving. the idea itself is similar to those candles that have carvings along the outside, and when the candle burns low, the carvings light up from the light.

... since you probably have seen many drawings in wood grain and such, do you think such is possible or even probable, or even already attempted?
*roof and roughly 6 feet wide). the idea is for them to be wooden and hang*
ah, very interesting to read up on this. XD
i just did mine last night..... it took forever.... o___o;;

Without a good pillow, there is no sleep.
.....unless you're in college and dead tired every single day.
That's an awesome idea and I do believe an expert woodcarver could pull it off- after all, I do know in Asia they have those extremely delicate cork wood carvings where there are these tiny scenes placed in narrow glass frames- have you seen them before? They can get so detailed that the trees have tiny leaves, and cranes can stand on hair-thin legs, and the buildings can have fences and rails with the most smallest ornate holes. In Europe they have similar carvings for rosary beads or just these scenes depicting religious imagery... once at a museum I even saw a carving with miniature people holding mini spears... spears like thread- I have no idea how it was carved without breaking the wood. So, I'm sure given the right level of talent, creativity, and experience a woodcarver could make those blinds where light comes through the wood panels- that would be so beautiful!
of course functionality wise, if it is to delicate, it wouldn't be sturdy enough to be used as blinds
